Paranoid?
I was going over some of the images that I have on my Samsung D500 phone and found ones that had me a little paranoid when I took them.
It was a Friday night and I was going into the city to meet up with Gabe. I was at the train stop that I normally catch my train on, and noticed (as I walked through the platform)that a BIG BLACK BAG was on the floor. In New York, we're supposed to look for suspicious packages and say something. As I got near the BIG BLACK BAG there were three guys near it. One of the guys approached the bag, looked around and picked it up.
Normally this wouldn't be such a surprise, but the three guys were of the Muslim religion. At first I was confused as to what they were doing, but then it got more interesting. As the one guy picked up the BIG BLACK BAG, another one took his jacket and placed it on the floor. He proceeded to get on his knees and start praying. At this point I'm dumbfounded because it was around 8:00 PM or so, and I didn't know what to make of their spectacle.
To be on the safe side, I whipped out my handy camera phone and snapped away at the three guys.
The guy on the left has the bag. The guy on the right is about to get on his knees.
Some people passing by as he's about to start praying on the platform:
You can see the guy on the floor, while the other two are chatting. I took this one while I was inside the train getting ready to leave.
Here is my problem. Am I wrong in thinking these guys are up to no good? If I saw a Christian person doing the sign of the cross, shouldn't I worry as well? Why am I looking at a Muslim person and thinking the worst? My theory is that this has to do with the government scaring the hell out of us, and the media making us paranoid.
Perhaps these guys are just going about their business, but thanks to the Bushies and the current government, I will be looking at everyone suspiciously.

Yeah...but what were they doing with that black bag?
I'd have wondered about it all...no matter what these men...seemed to be.
That wasn't even the worse part. The worse part was that the bag was on the floor for a while..... the three men were just looking arond to see who looked at the bag before picking it up.
Thank goodness the following day there wasn't anything wrong at that stop.

I wanna see your face if you saw a BIG BLACK BAG and three muslim dudes, praying where teh bag was...

BTW No you would not be as worried if you saw a Christian with a cros. You'd be annoyed

it would be interesting if they they were sociologists or something, ya know? studying whether the propaganda against terrorism is really effecient in making people paranoid.
i would love to read the results of that study, if they were really sociologists...
I would think with all the homeless people that black bags are common, you know to carry their junk around in, clothes, whatever, cardboard. You know, like, BAG LADY. The gov't is surely scaring the hell out of you, so they can get your damn vote. Resist the urge to let them control you this way.
