Independent
I was looking forward to voting today, but as luck would have it... I can't vote. I am a registered Independent voter and in New York the primaries are closed primaries. This means you must be affiliated with the party in order to vote in the primary. If you aren't registered as a Republican, you can't vote in Republican primaries. If you aren't registered as a Democrat, you can't vote in Democrat primaries.
So this means that I sit this one out, but I'm kind of glad in a strange way. I'm still undecided on who to vote for at this point. I'm sure as time goes on I'll have a better clue as to who the right choice is.
How bout you? Did you go? You don't need to disclose your choice... I know people are touchy about that kind of stuff....(although I'm not sure why?). As a teen I remember my eight grade teacher talking to us about voting. She was very enthusiastic on the point of voting and how it was patriotic, yadda yadda yadda...
When I asked who she was voting for she got red faced and didn't know what to say. I found it puzzling because she had a hard time trying to explain why she couldn't tell us her choice. LOL It was great to see the teacher squirm in her own argument for voting. To this day I wonder who she voted for in 1988.
I found the info for Super Tuesday here.
